Corporate forms like Zee, Sony and Star can spend a lot of money in promoting their respective channels. On the other hand, the DD is cash-strapped
Good-quality (and affluent) sponsors are not available to the DD. But private channels have the support of various corporate groups
The government plans to telecast only traditional act forms, news, political event and a few (Friday) movies. Hence, its viewership has reduced in terms of number in rural India
